The system will not be changed. It has all the power, controls all the levers, denies all the revolutionaries, defangs all the idealists, brooks no serious challenges. The establishment cannot accept in any way that it is intrinsically corrupted by power and influence. It wraps itself in words of freedom and equality, but supports those who desire to erase whatever little progress has been made against the history of power and empire.
The system will not be changed. The white faces that sit at the head of the tables, and have for the majority of history itself, may let you sit at the table once in a while, but the table is theirs, the chairs are theirs, the rooms, the house, the grounds, all are theirs and will always be theirs.
Some at the table will say the right words, offer sounds of compassion, of empathy, but will still let the others speak their hatred, their bile, their insidious insinuations of difference based on appearance or some other fallacy.
They won’t storm off at the offensiveness of it. Won't flip tables, raise voices, threaten battle to defend the powerless, the vilified, the ostracised.
No, they sit at the table as they have always done, and document the atrocities with words of horror and disgust, while we lay dead at the hands of their kin at the table.
The system will not be changed. It was built to be that way.
